VisualMed Dermatology System (SVD)

The VISUALMED site is part of the video-episcope system. This site is dedicated to the exchange of information between doctors who use the video-episcope equipment and experts in analyze cutaneous lesions. This way dermatology professionals can use the digital communication technology in long distances to exchange informations and have other opinions about suspect lesions.

Video-episcopes:

The several video-episcopes manufactured by Atonus is projected to allow fast diagnoses about the patients conditions providing magnified images of the lesions in a video monitor.

These equipments can be used as much as attached to a video-episcope system as apart providing useful images to documentation, patient information or telemedicine.

Each video-episcope has it specific tecnology and cost characteristics giving the doctor the opportunity to choose the best equipment for his needs.

Some specific characteristics of the video-episcope with optical fiber are:

  • Illumination by Optical Fiber cable: provide an appropriate illumination to the lesion that is being observed.
  • Easy control of focus and magnification : The focus and magnification functions provide better images of the suspect lesions.

Removable Contact Plate : allow a safe cleanness of the contact plate (equipment part wich has contact with the skin), avoiding possible contamination between patients.

Video-episcope system:

The video-episcope is one of the components of the Visualmed dermatology system  developed by Atonus. Other components are:

  • computer with FAX/Modem board,
  • monitor,
  • printer,
  • image capture board,
  • mechanic section,
  • dermatology VisualMed software.

The VisualMed software was developed to perform the assignments of the VisualMed dermatology system. This software allows you to register the patients data and images, acquire and process images of cutaneous lesions and realize morphologic analysis. Others exams are: "seven-point check list", clinical ABCD and detailed characteristics.

The software togheter with the Fax/Modem board allow the remote exchange of informations and images trough a local network or trough the Internet.
